How to secure admission at this Institute?


Admission at this Institute for the MBA program is secured via the annual CAT Exam for Indian Applicants & via the GMAT Exam for Foreign Applicants. Once shortlisted, applicants are required to go through the AWT-PI process for selection. 

The shortlisting to selection ratio is around 3:1 for this Institute. 


The shortlisting procedure involves the following weights:


CAT Score: 65%

Work Ex: 5%

10th: 10%

12th: 10%

Graduation: 10%


One thing to be noted that various parameters are included in shortlisting, one of them being the Academic Category parameter, where various candidates are segregated based on various Academic Categories & the top candidates according to that Academic Category get Shortlisted, provided they have crossed the 80%ile mark in their 10th,12th & Graduation for their particular Academic Category. 

If one does not meet the 80%ile criteria, they still have a chance to get shortlisted with the unutilized shortlisted by all the Academic Categories combined. 


Once shortlisted, the weights for the final selection round are as follows:


Personal Interview: 50%

Analytical Writing Test: 10%

CAT Score: 25%

Application Rating: 15%


If one meets the criteria for both the Shortlisting and Final Selection phases, he/she is offered provisional admission to the Institute.


Sectoral Placements & Packages


The placement process is conducted in two stages.

  1. First Stage: Laterals Process, where firms interview students with prior work experience and offer mid-level managerial positions.
  2. Second stage: Final placement Process, where firms are grouped into cohorts based on the profile offered, and groups of cohorts are invited to campus across different clusters.

About 42% of the batch is eligible for lateral placements, which provides students an opportunity to leverage their work experience optimally. The laterals process included 44 firms from diverse sectors such as Technology, Banking, Consulting, General Management and Analytics. 


Firms from different sectors and geographies participate in the process at llM Ahmedabad. 

  • Firms that participated in the Laterals Process included Adani Group, Amazon American Express, Browser Stack, Capgemini, Cloudtail, EXt Finlft Flipkart, InfoEdge, Infosys Ltd, Liberty Insurance, Matrix Partners India, Media.net, Microsoft, Ola Cabs, Paytm, PwC, RPG Group, Sprinklr, Tata Administrative Services, Tech Mahindra, Iinbxd Inc. and Zee Entertainment amongst others.
  • Recruiters in the Management Consulting domain included Accenture Strategy, Boston Consulting Group, Kearney, Bain & Co., KPMG, McKinsey & Co., Monitor Deloitte, Oliver Wyman and Strategy& among others. 
  • Prominent recruiters in the Investment Banking and Markets space included Citi, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, HSBC.
